It will be here faster than you know it! One month earlier this year, we will once again get about 400 friends of Canterbury together for a fun and friendly game of trivia. Attendees and volunteers also have the opportunity to bid on dozens of items in the silent auction.
Each year with great sponsors, wonderful donations, and generous bidders this event provides Canterbury with the bulk of our private funding. And this year may be more important than ever before. Whether you work the bar as a volunteer or are the captain of the winning trivia team, we can be pretty sure you will be glad you spent your Saturday night with us.
On Saturday, October 15, 2016, we are hosting the 9th Annual "Caring for Canterbury's Stars" Trivia Night & Silent Auction at IBEW Local #1 - 5850 Elizabeth Ave, located just off Hampton Avenue. During 10 rounds of trivia we have several items available in the silent auction. We also play games like 50/50, Heads or Tails, and a raffle. Our goal is to have fun and raise $50,000 with the help of national companies, area businesses, and the awesome individuals who volunteer, play, and bid. The funds we raised in 2015's event allowed us to purchase new equipment and allowed us to hire more individuals from our waiting list. It also helped us enhance the skills and productivity of our current employees.
Our supporters have given in-kind donations, paid for sponsorships and/or ads for the event program. In return for their generosity, donors will receive name recognition in our event program, on auction bid sheets, on our website, and in social media. Canterbury Enterprises, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. As no goods or services will be provided in exchange for the donation, these gifts will be tac-deductible to the full extent of the law. While some donors specifically prefer one kind of acknowledgement over another, we can provide documentation for donors and sponsors through a letter of acknowledgement for this purpose.
